Simulate filling, cooling, and warpage to optimize injection molds and ensure the quality of plastic components before production.
Mold design and integrated simulation
Simcenter Inspire Mold is designed to simplify the design of injection-molded plastic components by bringing simulation directly into the hands of the product designer. The interface allows automatic generation of mold geometry, cavity setup, and simulation of material behavior during the different stages of the molding cycle.
Filling, cooling, and deformation evaluated in advance
The entire process, from filling to cooling and final part deformation, is analyzed within a structured workflow. This enables early detection and correction of defects such as shrinkage, short shots, air traps, or weld lines before the mold is built, reducing development time and costs.
Materials, multi-cavity molds, and final product quality
Inspire Mold supports analysis of multi-cavity molds, inserts, injection runners, and complex gating systems. The software includes an integrated material library and will soon connect to Altair’s Material Data Center. This comprehensive approach allows users to achieve production-ready molds faster, with higher quality and reliability.
Energy optimization and sustainability
In addition to product quality and mold accuracy, Inspire Mold provides tools to evaluate the energy impact of plastic production cycles. By simulating cooling, heat management, and dissipation, cycle times can be optimized, energy consumption reduced, and thermal defects minimized. This approach improves environmental sustainability while enhancing economic efficiency by lowering operational costs and waste.
